The ‘7 bays for 7 days’ can all be reached within 10 minutes by car

Trevone

  • Popular with families, Trevone is a sandy bay surrounded by cliffs.
    No dogs are allowed mid May to end of September, 10am-6pm.
  • Blue Flag awarded.
  • RNLI lifeguards are on duty 10am-6pm from mid-May to the end of September
  • 2 car parks – one leads to the beach by a slight slope (accessible for prams/wheelchairs that are suitable for use on sand) and the others has steps that lead to the beach.
    NB: New 2021 - cameras operate at these car parks and charge from moment of entry (payment required even if you only stay for 5 mins to avoid finding a fine when you get home)
  • Popular shop / café / restaurant next to the car park / beach.
  • Toilets – maintained by the shop with 50p access.
  • To the west of the beach there is also a rocky beach (dogs allowed all year) and which is great for children to enjoy rock-pooling.
  • Good coastal walks in both directions – to Harlyn, Trevose Head and onwards to the west and to Padstow to the east.

Harlyn

  • Considered to be one of the best family beaches on the North Cornish coast.
  • A wide, spacious beach of sand and pebbles popular with families, surfers and body boarders.
  • Plenty of interesting rock pools and backed by dunes.
  • Dogs allowed all year.
  • RNLI lifeguards are on duty 10am-6pm during Easter school holidays, then weekends until May when they are there every day until the end of September, and again at October half term holidays.
  • Car park right by the beach plus a field overflow car park opposite the beach car park.
  • Shop and Harlyn Bay surf school
  • Toilets (just across the road)
  • Coastal path walks in both directions with fantastic scenery and views.

Mother Ivey’s

  • The bay takes its name from the legend of Mother Ivy who was a local white witch who cursed a local family.
  • Also known, by the Cornish, as Polventon beach.
  • Dogs allowed all year.
  • No facilities and therefore rarely gets busy.
  • Car parking approx. 20 mins walk either way – either at Harlyn (private car park) or Trevose Head (National Trust car park)

Booby’s Bay

  • A wide sandy beach with many rock pools
  • Popular with surfers and families.
  • Dogs allowed all year.
  • RNLI lifeguards are on duty 10am-6pm from mid-May to mid-September.
  • Parking available at Treyarnon Bay or Constantine (limited).
  • Access to the beach is by climbing down over rocks from the coast path or walking along the beach at low tide.

Constantine

  • A wide sandy beach with the reputation as one of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall.
  • Popular with families for both swimming and surfing.
  • Numerous rock pools to explore.
  • Dogs allowed all year.
  • RNLI lifeguards are on duty 10am-6pm during Easter school holidays, then weekends until May when they are there every day until the end of September, then weekends only with full cover again at October half term holidays.
  • Parking – limited at Constantine. A 10 minute walk along the coast path from Treyarnon.

Treyarnon

  • A clean sandy beach surrounded by low cliffs and backed by sand dunes.
  • Popular with families with numerous rock pools and sheltered small coves.
  • There is a natural ‘swimming pool’ within the rocks to the north of the beach.
  • Dogs allowed all year.
  • RNLI lifeguards are on duty 10am-6pm from mid-May to the end of September
  • Parking – a large car park right next to the beach, with level access to the beach.
  • Shop, including beach equipment hire.
  • Toilets

Porthcothan

  • A sandy beach back by grassy dunes.
  • Popular with families the beach opens out at low tide to connect with small coves in both directions. The beach shrinks at high tide and becomes sheltered due to the cliffs.
  • Dogs allowed all year.
  • RNLI lifeguards are on duty 10am-6pm from mid-May to the end of September.
  • Parking – there is a Council pay and display car park just over the road with easy access to the beach.
  • Shop, located in the car park.
  • Toilets, also in the car park.
